APPOINTMENTS

We run an appointments system with 24 hour access to a Nurse and 48 hour access to see a Doctor. You can make an appointment to see the Doctors or Nurses by telephone or by calling at our surgery. Further details below:

You may be asked to wait a day or so for a routine doctor's appointment. If you need to see the doctor on the same day (usually if an emergency or an urgent problem that cannot wait until the next available appointment), you should tell the receptionist and she will arrange it for you.

Emergencies will receive immediate attention, but less urgent requests may be fitted in at the end of surgery. In addition you can also make an appointment to see one of our practice managers'.

Patients who wish to speak to the Doctor or the Nurse are asked to call the surgery between 12pm and 1pm, if you cannot call between these times you can leave a message with the receptionist and the Doctor or Nurse will call you back the same day.

We ask patients who are unable to attend for an appointment to let us know in advance so that we can offer that time to another patient. Patients who repeatedly fail to inform us of not being able to attend for and appointment will be asked to see the practice manager.

For thesafety of patients and staff we operate a zero tolerance policy. Patients who are abusive or violent towards any other persons on the premises will be asked to leave immediately and will be removed from the practice list. If neccessary the police will be called to the surgery.

The Guru Nanak Medical Centre has a wheelchair access ramp at the rear, where parking is available for patients and wheelchairs can also easily access the surgery from the front of the building. Toilets which can be accessed by a wheelchair are available on the ground floor.
